Q&A: Flannels and Frost

You have questions? We’ve got answers! We interviewed David Moore, the planner of Flannels & Frost, to get the details about Saturday’s event.

What can guests look forward to at Flannels and Frost?

There will be family friendly activities for all ages! You can relive your favorite camping memories by roasting s’mores, chilling in a hammock, and playing lawn games at the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail. There will be chill tunes by DJ B3 throughout the afternoon while you shop in the Winter Market. The Winter Market is made up of local vendors and provides the chance for you to find the perfect Valentine’s Day gift. Relax and and read from a variety of books provided by the Middle Georgia Regional Library in honor of February being Library Lover’s Month. You can pick up a book or a knitting set and chill in one of our teepees while sipping a frothy beverage purchased from Piedmont Brewery and Kitchen.

Don’t miss the chance to dress up as a lumberjack to be entered into a drawing to win $50 gift card from Travis Jean Emporium. A photo booth will be provided by 7th Street Salvage to capture a memory as you enjoy this downtown public space in a new way!

Who can come?

This event is completely free and open to the public.

Where is it located/ how do you get there?

Flannels & Frost will be at the Spring Street Landing along the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail.

Simply park at 815 Riverside Drive (the empty lot next to Burger King), and enjoy a free ride on the Ocmulgee Outdoor Expeditions’ school bus over to the event. You can’t miss this big blue bus, and it will be shuttling to and from the trail every 15 minutes! Stick around downtown Macon after the event and go to one of the over thirty local restaurants.

Food and Drink

Water and s’mores will be provided at the event. Piedmont Brewery and Kitchen will have beverages and soft drinks for sale. Savory sweets and treats will be available for purchase from some of our local vendors at the Winter Market.

Restrooms

There will be portable toilets at the event.

What are you most excited for?

I am excited to bring a unique program to attract the Macon community to the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail. I know the construction has deterred people from regularly walking the trail, but I hope this event helps people realize the trail is still open, easily accessible, and a great way to spend the weekend.
