REAL TALL TALES: Five Short Documentaries by Nik Nerburn at Ampersand Art Guild

Nik Nerburn is a research-based storyteller, experimental historian, filmmaker and photographer. His work often involves essayistic interventions in archival materials to explore regional histories, focusing on stories that stand at the intersection of power, memory, nostalgia, race and place. He’s interested in personal histories, folklore and regionalism, being equally informed by documentary journalism and avant-garde forms. These five short films vary widely in style, but are all united by themes of myth, geography and the high weirdness of rural life.
